Carrie
Bell Williams (nee O’Rea) was born November 28, 1905 in De Funiak
Springs, Florida to Charles and Louise Roller-O’Rea. In 1936, Carried moved
to Elyria, Ohio From De Funiak Springs, Florida where she made her home for
the past 66 years.
Carrie
Bell departed this life on Tuesday, July 2, 2002. Se accepted Christ at an
early age and became a member of St Mark A.M.E. Church, De Funiak Springs,
Florida. After moving to Elyria 66 years ago, she was on of the founding
members of Jones Chapel A.M.E. Church where she was also the oldest
members. She was a member of the Usher Board, Rosena Frances Missionary
Society and Christian Endeavor League. She also volunteered for the Jones
Chapel Hot Lunch Program. In addition Carrie Bell was a member of the
Margaret Barnes Club, Elks Peerless Temple 236 and the auxiliary member of
the American League Post 347. 
Together
Carrie Bell and her husband, Leonard L. Williams had five children. She is
survived by her daughters Carrie Louise McElroy and Rose M. Moore; and son
Jimmy L. all of Elyria; eight grandchildren; twelve great-grandchildren;
five great great-grandchildren and a hose of nieces and nephews.
She was
preceded in death by her husband Leonard L.; son, Leonard L. Jr.; a daughter
Bernice Williams; Brother Edward and Charles O’Rea; sister Anna Mae Wade,
and Lucille O’Rea; and two grandchildren.
